Hello builders! It's Chay here, and welcome back to Bricks and Builds with Chay — your cozy corner of the internet for all things LEGO. Today, I'm bringing you a whirlwind of bricks, Star Wars spirit, and rainy-day vibes as we dive into the delightful 74-piece Millennium Falcon set, LEGO 30708.

🌟 Star Wars Day Vibes + A Movie Detour

It all began on May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day — a sacred day for many of us brick-loving nerds. I'd just finished building a different Star Wars set (with Republic Stormtroopers, no less!) when I realized I had this little beauty: a promotional LEGO set that came free with my purchase. How could I not build it next?

The only hiccup? I had movie plans! But don't worry, I made it just in time to catch Thunderbolts — Marvel's wild ride that definitely gives off Suicide Squad energy. Highly recommend, by the way.

🌧️ New York Rains, Cozy Builds

So the next day, with clouds overhead and a drizzle tapping at the windows, I grabbed my coffee, my build mat, and my mini Millennium Falcon. Rainy days in New York hit differently, and nothing pairs better with that kind of mood than the soft click of LEGO bricks coming together.

🧳 The Build: Simplicity Meets Ingenuity

Let me tell you, folks, don't underestimate a 74-piece set. This tiny Falcon has heart. While there were a few moments where my brain took a coffee break (who else struggles with tiny symmetrical parts?), it was smooth sailing. No instruction booklet here — just a poster-style foldout, which actually made the build feel like an old-school LEGO experience.

Each piece, from the satellite dish on top to the tiny details of the thrusters, reminded me why I adore LEGO: the intricacy, the creativity, the joy of making something amazing out of tiny bits of plastic.

📅 Memories, Mistakes, and Mini Victories

Like most of my builds, there were a few hiccups. I placed a couple of pieces wrong, but nothing a quick fix couldn't handle. I even got a bit nostalgic thinking about my friend Doug, who was celebrating Star Wars at Disney World while I built away in my apartment.

It may not have been as glamorous, but I wouldn’t trade my cozy build session for anything. Okay... maybe for a trip to Galaxy's Edge.

🚀 The Final Product + Final Thoughts

And there she is — the mini Millennium Falcon in all her glory. Small? Yes. Easy? Mostly. Satisfying? Absolutely.

I even got a few extra pieces and honestly, I would’ve happily paid five bucks for this build. That’s the magic of LEGO — no matter the size, it always feels like a mini adventure.

Thanks for hanging out with me for another build story! Stay safe, keep building, and don’t forget: even the tiniest Falcon can soar ✨

Until next time,
Chay 📀
